
Adey Salamin is the founder of iMENA Group — a company operating online and mobile businesses for consumers and enterprises in MENA markets — and cofounder & CEO of OpenSooq.com — a leading online marketplace platform in the MENA region for selling, buying or advertising goods and services. He has led strategic advisory projects for MENA companies’ technology commercialization, market entry, deal sourcing and structuring in Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Libya. In previous years, Mr. Salamin worked as VP and a member of the investment team at the Abraaj Group and also worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers LP in New York and New Jersey.
Over the course of his career, he has served as a judge and mentor for the MIT Arab Student Organization, the MENA 100 Business Plan with OECD, the MSFT Imagine Cup and the Wharton Arab Business Plan competition. Mr. Salamin holds a Finance and Accounting Certificate from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Engineering.
