THE CONSULTING AND INVESTMENT CO. LTD. (ISTISHARI HOSPITAL)
Overview
When Istishari Hospital’s two largest shareholders, Capital Bank of Jordan and Bank of Jordan, made the strategic decision to sell their shares of the hospital (owned and managed by public shareholding company The Consulting and Investment Co.), they reached out to Capital Investments to manage the sale. In line with the banks’ goal of divesting from all non-core assets, Capital Investments sought out a new group of investors to take over a majority stake in the hospital.
Outcome
As the exclusive financial advisor, Capital Investments finalized the sale of Capital Bank of Jordan and Bank of Jordan’s shares in January 2016, with a new group of investors acquiring 60 percent of the hospital’s share capital. Not only did this allow the previous shareholders to fulfill their strategic divestment objectives, but the sale provided the hospital with an opportunity to reinvigorate its operations and reach sustained profitability.
